Liu xiang is my hero forever no matter he wins this gold medal or not.
Health is the most important to any person including an athlete.
I think Liu Xiang made a very wise decision. Keep trying and good luck Liuxiang.
See you in London, 2012
-------------------------------------------------------
i agree. Liu has already won a gold and will always be a national hero -
I can only HOPE that the Chinese government and Chinese people will not be too angry with him!
I hope they understand the seriosness of his injury!!!
-------------------------------------------------------
i feel very sorry for liu xiang, but he would be my chinese hero in my heart forever >_<
-------------------------------------------------------
i give him a lot of respect for having the courage to try and race even though
he knew he was injured. best of luck to him.
-------------------------------------------------------
liu xiang remains our hero forever, it happens sometimes, come on good lucky
-------------------------------------------------------
It's a very normal thing to qiut games because of injury.
So come on Liu, hope you recover soon.
-------------------------------------------------------
As an hero of us chinese ,you are ,and will always be our hero,
the most shining star ,whether with the medal or not!!
-------------------------------------------------------
Liu Xiang is NOT a Chinese hero - he is a hero to the entire world.
-------------------------------------------------------
Win or not, he was a miracle and he still is.
-------------------------------------------------------
I hope he will be well soon. I do not expect him to win any medals.
Just not to succumb to pressure.
-------------------------------------------------------
I am here in Beijing and have seen the true nature of the Chinese fans and the situation.
Never have I seen more organization, and despite the craziness of the crowds,
more cheer and good sportsmanlike conduct.
The Olympic volunteers are both helpful and friendly and
the air quality is infinitely better than Los Angeles, where I live.
--------------------------------------------------------
Liu is the hero in the heart of all the Chinese. He will be back!
--------------------------------------------------------
where goes win, where goes lose.it's quite reasonable.
liu quits the game because of a heel injury, and nothing more.
--------------------------------------------------------
liu xiang is still my hero, he had to do right for his health.
if he had of raced he could of been seriously injured and
that could of been the end of his career.
he is still young only 25, he will be back in 2012.
unitil then i hope liu xiang gets back to 100%
i hope the chinese people/communtity will forgive him
and see liu xiang's point of view.
--------------------------------------------------------
It is a sad story for any athletes, who prepared arduously for this shining moment.
--------------------------------------------------------
This news came as a shock to many Chinese but not as devastating as many of you have imagined.
It's just a game.
--------------------------------------------------------
Liu has tried his best, and I respect what he did--
if he continued the race with the injury, he maybe got destroied himself forever.
He quit now at least he sitll has a chance later, this is better.
--------------------------------------------------------
Win or not, he was a miracle and he still is.
--------------------------------------------------------
I really appreciated Liuxiang and his coach Sun Haiping.
They spent lots of time and energy for Beijing Olympics and made fully preparation.
Unfortunately, Liu was greatly influenced by hurt```Maybe this pity is a part of perfect Olympics.
I believe that all of Chinese people will be proud of Xiang's bravery and toughness. Good luck buddie!
--------------------------------------------------------
I hope he will be well soon.
--------------------------------------------------------
Liu Xiang is an ordinary Chinese and he does what he can for his career.
--------------------------------------------------------
LiuXiang does not have to prove anything,he has already made the case that
he is one of great athletes in this world.
We lost a chance to see his performance. But he will give us a lot for the years to come.
--------------------------------------------------------
I am glad to see so many Chinese show support for Liu Xiang
even after he pulls out of the race due to injuries.
That shows humanity and sportsmanship in Chinese.
--------------------------------------------------------
Its a shame to see athletes pull out because of their injuries,
and knowing that they could have a high chance of winning their event.
And in today's heats we see two of the world's best 110m hurdle competitors
pull out because their injuries. My heart goes out to Liu Xiang and Terence Trammell.
